Procurement Manager
We are seeking an experienced and hands on manager to head our Procurement Department. As the Procurment Manager you will plan and implement activities related to the timely and cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of the Extech Test and Measurement product line.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Manage the new part number process, create new bills of materials in MAX
- Oversee MRP process and ensure parameters are updated regularly
- Control product costs, transportation costs, and landed factors
- Propose products that could be phased or discontinued (based on low volume or vendor issues) to VP Sales & Mktg.
- Ensure the availability of products in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
- Responsible for sourcing and supplying finished goods, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts.
- Coordinate with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs.
- Review and plans requirements for acceptable inventory.
- Work with distributors in auditing inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies.
- Select, develop, and evaluate two key employees to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment and experience dealing with oversees suppliers
- SAP experience preferred
- Six Sigma Training preferred
- Familiarity with the instrumentation industry preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
- Ability to multitask in a team oriented fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Accounting Manager
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in Waltham. This highly motivated individual will report to the Controller and be responsible for the Monthly Closing process including generation of Financial Statements, Customer Billing, Account Reconciliations and assisting in year end audit and tax filings.
The Accounting Manager will be part of the Finance Team and should have a positive, team attitude that focuses on quality, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have an operationally oriented mindset and be able to impact and influence the results of the business. Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Monthly close process
- Prepare Monthly Journal entries
- Manager Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable areas
- Analyze Financial Statements
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Support with sales tax preparation
- Prepare monthly financial reports and ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as required
- Assist Controller with year end audit
- Help implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures
- Any other duties assigned by the Controller
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting. CPA preferred
- 5-7 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable of GAAP accounting concepts
- Experience in developing and maintaining internal controls. SOX experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel
- Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
- Ability to multitask in a team oriented fast paced environment
- Must be able to work additional hours if necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with Great Plains and Frx reporting preferred
Quality Control Technician
We are seeking a junior level Quality Control Technician. Quality Control technicians perform detailed functional inspections of all incoming Extech products. They ensure proper unit operation prior to release to the warehouse for shipment.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes written checking procedures in the performance of new and re-worked product inspections as assigned by the Team Leader. Follows the daily priority of work established by the Team Leader and/or Technical Services Manager
- Follows AQL inspection sample guidelines and utilizes only NIST certified test equipment and approved checking procedures (ISO Form 9001-046) in the performance of his or her work
- Identifies non-conforming material to the QC Team Leader. Documents and controls non-conforming material in accordance with the Extech Quality Manual and appropriate ISO guidelines
- Utilizes Stock Status Transaction Forms (ISO Form 9001-045) to control QC inventory and vendor non conforming material
- Performs additional tasks requested by Technical Services Manager
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with electronic and high voltage test equipment and a background in electronics
- Completion of an electronics course of instruction at a college or technical institute
- Must exhibit the discipline to follow written procedures and complete required documentation with strict attention to detail
- Ability to accept work assignments and function as a member of a team
- Must be able to react positively to rapidly changing requirements—flexibility is essential
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A high school diploma
