Extech Instruments, a major supplier of test and measurement equipment for the industrial marketplace, announces its new 42560 IR Thermometer, featuring a wireless interface for direct transmission of temperature to a PC. The 42560 is a non-contact thermometer that delivers a wide temperature range of -58 to 1022ºF/-50 to 1050ºC.

For utmost accuracy on different surfaces, Extech’s 42560 IR Thermometer includes a type K thermocouple probe for contact temperature measurements and also provides a means for both manual and automatic emissivity adjustment. This IR Thermometer features a narrow 30:1 distance to target ratio, and by placing the meter on a Base Station, it can transmit continuous readings to the Remote Receiver connected to a PC via USB cable.

Other unique features of the 42560 include: adjustable high/low visual and audible alerts when temperature exceeds programmed limits; a lock function for continuous measurements, a built-in laser pointer for improved aim; and memory for 20 labeled readings. The 42560 can display a range of readings, including highest, lowest, average, and MAX minus MIN values.
